Coyote Family Update for 10/23

Good morning! The sun is shining bright and the air is clear here at Cordelia Hills. It finally feels like we are returning to a normal routine after the hectic few days of fire related emergencies and closures. It is a busy week at Cordelia Hills with the week being topped off with our annual Trunk or Treat on Friday evening. Check out all the details below and as always, contact me anytime!!

 Halloween Related Activities:

1. Cordelia Hills Trunk or Treat: Friday, 10/27 from 6-8 p.m. Enter thru the bottom parking lot doors. If you are interested in helping out or want to contribute candy, check out this flyer here.

 2. SASO Spooky Stampede: SASO Swimming is hosting a Spooky Stampede this Sunday, October 29th at Solano College. They have a mile run or a 5k. Check it out here! 

 3. Halloween Parade: Our annual Halloween Parade will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. The parade starts at 8:25. The students will do two do laps around the playground and thru the amphitheater. Parents are welcome to line the parade route or to sit in the amphitheater. Please remember to avoid blocking the route and that students can wear costumes but weapons, fake blood, or face covers are not allowed. Please note that afternoon TK/K will parade at approximately 11:30 on the upper level breezeway.

Coyote Color Run

 The Coyote Color Run has been rescheduled for November 8th. The run times are the same (10 am for TK/K, 11 am for 4th-5th grades, and 12:30 for 1st-3rd grade). The event takes place on the baseball/upper field and parents are welcome to join us! The pledges and pledge competitions will start back up next week, 10/30. Thank you again for your support of our event and our students!

 Report Card Conference Week

 Just a reminder that conference week is coming November 13th-17th. The schedule is as follows for every day of the week:

ALL TK/Kinder: 8:20-11:35
Grades 1st-5th: 8:20-11:50
October 26--Picture Make-Up day
October 27--Trunk or Treat (6-8 pm)--entrance at bottom side door
October 31--Halloween Parade 
November 3--No Students--teacher work day
November 8--PTA meeting, library at 6:15
November 10--No school, Veterans Day
November 13-17--Minimum Day Schedule, TK/K release @ 11:40 all week, 1st-5th release at 11:50 all week. 
November 20-24: No school, Thanksgiving Break

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. The run  schedule is set with: TK-K @ 10:00 4-5 @ 11 1-3 @ 12:30 The run will take place on the Upper Field.  Funrun.com  is open and is accepting online pledges for support of STEAM funding at Cordelia Hills. Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
