CHE Family Update for 1/29

After a rainy, cloudy week, we are looking forward to some warmer temperatures! Some quick updates and notes for the week! MAP Testing : District MAP testing is taking place starting next week in grades 1-5. The two week window covers all students in ELA and Math. We are focused on GROWTH for all students and I believe we will see growth for 100% of our students! Progress Reports : Progress reports should have gone home on Friday. Remember, these are a snapshot in time and I tell all students that they have time to make growth but have to take advantage of the time they have and work hard. Most teachers allow re-do tests, extended deadlines, and provide additional academic support for struggling students. If you have questions about your students progress report, please reach out to the teacher and seek assistance.  Attendance : In order to be successful, students have to be at school. Welcome to another week, Coyote Families! The brisk, busy weeks continue! Our attendance continues to suffer from the high rates of student sickness. While we definitely encourage students to stay home if they are sick, especially if they have a fever or are throwing up, we want to encourage families to avoid any unexcused absences! We hope everyone stays health. We love having our kids here! Updates and News Great Kindness Challenge : This week is the Great Kindness Challenge and we our school, along with individual classes, have activities planned.  You can participate. Welcome to another week families! Just a few quick updates for the week. It is an exciting time at school and we thank you endlessly for your support. Movie Night   1/19: CHE Movie Night at 6 p.m. (Boss Baby) in the MPR. Come enjoy the movie and support our PTA! We can't wait to see you. Jump Rope for Heart : We are hosting a Jump Rope for Heart assembly today to kick off our Jump Rope for Heart campaign. More details will come home with the students, including the information on our February 6th celebration. Thanks in advance for your support.  Girl Scout Rose Garden Project!! : Our wonderful local Girl Scout Troop 30174 helped to move our Rose Memorial Garden nearer to the front office. It is obvious when you walk up as it a ton of new red bark has been placed in the area (along with several rose trees and bushes). Welcome Back! I hope the break was filled with family, fun, and maybe some rest. I did see many wide grins from parents today who were happy to drop off kids after a long break.
