CHE Update for 2/21

I see the SUN! Finally, a little bit of time for the students to be outside. I hope you had a great weekend and that this week is filled with great time with family, friends, and co-workers!

Below are some announcements and upcoming events/dates.

1. Pennies for Patients: Pennies for Patients is underway at Cordelia Hills. The campaign serves as a fundraiser that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each class has a collection box and we have individual boxes for each student. The collection will go last thru March 28th (after spring break). Some classes have already raised over $150.00!! As always, thanks for the community support. Please reach out with any questions or contact Sandi or Mrs. Lissick (leads for the campaign).

2. Food for events/parties: A friendly reminder that we request that you do not send in food for parties. While healthier choices are allowable, it is easier to manage the policy if parents send in non-food items to support classrooms or for birthday celebrations. TRUST US, we love cookies and cupcakes just as much as most but we are trying to adhere to the District and state guidelines on nutrition. We appreciate your cooperation.

3. Attendance: There is nothing more important than a healthy record of attendance for our students. Our goal this year is 98% attendance for the whole year. Currently, we are hovering right above 97.0%. When students miss just two days a month, they end up missing 18 days/year or 10% of the school year. We need your support in getting your child to school on a regular basis. We always appreciate your support!!

4. Family Reading Night: Family reading night is coming up on Thursday, March 2nd from 5:30-7:30 in the MPR. Flyers will be going home tomorrow! Thank you to staff and PTA in advance for your support of Read Across America and literacy here at Cordelia Hills.

Upcoming events/dates:
