Happy Attendance Awareness Month!

Another great week at Cordelia Hills. I say it all the time but we are truly blessed to have your students at our school. 

Highlights from this week:

• We are kicking off Attendance Awareness Month. Our goal is to promote, recognize, and educate our students and community on the importance of coming to school everyday. Our school-wide goal this year is 97% and I know we can easily top that if we work together to promote healthy attendance habits.

• We had 35 Paw Prides turned in. These are recognition cards for students who are following our school rules (safe, responsible, respectful). We reward them by calling names at Friday lunch and with a small prize pick! Keep up the great work Coyotes!

•  Back to School Night had a HUGE Turnout. Thank you to those that attended. My presentation is here: BTSN

News

•  WOW Wednesdays start September 6th! Cycle, scooter, skate, or walk every Wednesday and beat the parking nightmare. We are looking for volunteers to lead walking groups to campus. Contact me if you are interested. WOW!

• Sign up for REMIND. Text @cordelia to 81010 for text updates. If you were signed up before, please sign up again. I cleared out all information and numbers in the system.

•  Friday Spirit Day Wear your school gear to school every Friday! Show us your school spirit.

•  Short Term Independent Study: If you know your child will be gone for 5 school days, and you are interested in independent study, the school must have a written request (email HelenL@fsusd.org) at LEAST 2 WEEKS prior to the absence. She will explain the process.

•  WE NEED YOU! We need English Learners Advisory Committee Members and School Site Council Members. Please email me if you are interested at all!

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. The run  schedule is set with: TK-K @ 10:00 4-5 @ 11 1-3 @ 12:30 The run will take place on the Upper Field.  Funrun.com  is open and is accepting online pledges for support of STEAM funding at Cordelia Hills. Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
