CHE Update for 4/18

Good morning, Coyote Families!

I hope you had a great weekend. We had a terrific turnout for the Mother-Son Hike on Friday afternoon. We have some amazing MOMS in our CHE community. You all rock! 

Just a few updates for CHE this week:

1. CAASPP testing is upon us next week. Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be testing during our testing window.  It is really important that students are in class, on-time during the testing period. We can't wait for our students to tackle this assessment and to show us all of the great learning progress they've made this year!

rd grade: April 24-April 28th (all day)
4th grade: May 1st-May 5th (all day)
5th grade: May 8th-May 15th (all day)
Make-ups: ON-going thru-May 25th

2. Attendance: Our attendance goal for this year is 98%. We have dipped down the last few weeks (allergies, colds, coughs, etc.). Help us meet our goal by ensuring your child is here, on-time, every day. This week, if our school can hit 98% two days, the students get to sit at any table they want on Friday during lunch. Help us make it happen!!

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. The run  schedule is set with: TK-K @ 10:00 4-5 @ 11 1-3 @ 12:30 The run will take place on the Upper Field.  Funrun.com  is open and is accepting online pledges for support of STEAM funding at Cordelia Hills. Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
