CHE Update for 4/10

Hi all!! Happy Monday. I had the chance to visit the Suisun Wildlife Center yesterday to check on the CHE owls. We had a total of 4 baby owls on campus and 3 of the 4 are doing well.


**Reminder--NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, 4/14 OR MONDAY, 4/17

 It is a busy week ahead. Some of the events and things to know for this week:

1. The CHE Mother-Son Hike is coming up this Friday, April 14th. The event will be at Rockville Regional Park starting at 10 am. PTA is offering pre-ordering for boxed lunches and keepsake photos. Pre-Order forms are available in the main office but are due today. This is a school holiday and the school will be closed. Rockville Regional Park.

 2. PTA is hosting a general association meeting at 6:15 in the school library, tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11. Check out the Cordelia Hills Elementary PTA FB page for more information.

3. Our Spring BOGO Free book fair is from 2:45-8 p.m. in the school MPR. We hope you can make it!

4. CAASPP Testing: CAASPP testing takes place in just two weeks. Third grade starts April 24th, fourt grade starts May 1st, and fifth grade starts May 8th. Each grade level will test all week. It is really important that students are in class, on-time during the testing period. We can't wait for our students to tackle this assessment and to show us all of the great learning progress they've made this year!

rd grade: April 24-April 28th (all day)
4th grade: May 1st-May 5th (all day)
5th grade: May 8th-May 15th (all day)
Make-ups: ON-going thru-May 25th

**Reminder, as spring approaches, students must be addressed in proper attire including closed toe footwear and tops. Thanks for your cooperation.

April 13: Spring BOGO Book Fair (2:45-8:00 p.m.--MPR), ELAC meeting at 3:00, School Site Council at 4:30--library.
April 14: Non Student Day, Mother-Son Hike
April 17: No School
April 19: Wildlife Assembly
State Testing: 4/18-5/25 (Grades 3-5).

Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card.
