CHE Update for 5/15

The Coyote Howl Hop is ALMOST here! We are so excited to see everyone on Friday night starting at 5 p.m. in the MPR for music, DJ, photo booth, cake walk, and TEACHER experience auction. Auction items range from a hiking day with teachers at Rockville park, Disneyland tickets, a 4th grade parents night out party, and many more awesome experiences. Check out the flyer here.

Some other announcements and upcoming events and dates:

1. School-wide testing and state testing: State testing is wrapping up today with just a few 5th grade make-ups left to complete. We transition to District MAP testing for all 1st-5th graders. That assessment will take us through the remainder of May and early June. Thanks for your support and patience.

2. Attendance: As the school year winds down, we have seen an uptick in students missing school. Please remember that every day counts and we really need all students to be at school unless they have a legitimate reason to be out. We really appreciate your support in making attendance at CHE a priority. 

3. 5th grade photos: The deadline for submitting photos for the 5th grade slideshow has been extended. Please email the photos to stevetr@fsusd.org. Email me if you have any questions. 

4. Bike to School Day: Thanks much for all of the support in having over 80 students bike, ride, or skate to school last Wednesday. We encourage our student body to wheel to school as much as possible during the school year. It promotes community, health, and HELPS with traffic.

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
