CHE Update for 5/1

Happy May! Today is Day 153 and we have less than 30 school days left. The sun is definitely out at Cordelia Hills. A few reminders: Please encourage your student to bring/drink plenty of water. Also, please remind your student we still require appropriate attire (shorts, tops, footwear, etc.) even when it it is SUPER WARM. Thanks for making this last few weeks a fantastic end of the year.

Some updates and reminders for this week and beyond:

1. CAASPP testing: CAASPP (state) testing continues this week and next week. Our 3rd graders totally rocked the test last week and we have moved to 4th grade for this week. Thanks for getting your student here on time and for scheduling appointments outside of the testing window. It is much appreciated!

2. Coyote Howl: The Howl is approaching on Friday, May 19th and ....
...
Things to know:

The event is from 5-8 p.m. in our MPR on 5/19 and includes music, dancing, food, carnival games, a teacher experience auction, a cake walk, and more!

We need your help. Teachers may email you specifically about helping for a particular class but here are two school-wide links for volunteering:

School-wide Coyote Howl Sign-Up Genius (this if for Carnival game volunteers)

Coyote Howl Volunteer Sign-Up Genius (general volunteers for the Howl event)

Follow-up from last week:

3. TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC!! I am pleading for your help! Please use an abundance of caution and common sense when navigating the areas around our school. The area behind the school (near the back gate) is our biggest hot spot. It is true that the streets behind the school are public but I am hoping we can give as much respect as possible to our school neighbors, many who lived here long before the school was built. If you aren't a person who walks to school, please DRIVE to the front of the school and drop off. I know nothing about drop off or pick up is convenient, but please do your best to be safe and to be respectful of our community and neighbors!

4. Science and Health Fair: Check out our upcoming science fair for 2017! A ton of great information about the upcoming event! https://sites.google.com/fsusd.org/chescienceandhealthfair/home

5. Flyers for this week (non-school affiliated organizations. Not endorsed by FSUSD/CHE)
