Happy Monday everyone! Fun weather this morning! 
Some updates and news for the week is below.

Shout Out to the PTA and to all of the volunteers for setting up and running our Book Fair last week. The work of our volunteers can never be thanked enough. The work often goes unnoticed but every event has a little squad of hard working people who make it all work for our kids. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

CAASPP Testing: It is nearly here. One more week and third grade will be underway. We are looking forward to seeing the fruits of our labor and we believe every kid is going to do well and surpass the personal goals they've set! I don't want to get ahead of ourselves but I am thinking a bravo! is in order for all of the success we have coming our way. Please remember that being on time, fed, and well-rested are important factors to success. Thanks for your support!

Collaboration 2018-2019: Teacher "Collaboration" will continue for the 2018-2019 school year. This means that Wednesday's will continue to be adjusted. We anticipate the release time being the same (currently 1:35 for grades 1-5). The collaboration time is important for our school and staff and I believe it has a direct correlation to student growth and success. 


Reminder about 5th grade End of Year: Fairfield-Suisun Elementary does not hold promotion/graduation ceremonies for 5th grade students. Nevertheless, we feel it is important to recognize this important transition for our students. We will host an event the final day of school (June 8th) to celebrate the transition and to wish them a farewell. Look for more information soon!

 A huge thank you to a special group of 5th graders who have a created a student newsletter. The first edition went out today and they will continue to add/change/improve on it each week. This was a completely student led endeavor. Thanks to  Arden , Josefina , Lesly , Imara , and Olivia.

April 18 and 20: Talent Show assemblies @ 8:30 in MPR
April 23: CAASPP Testing begins for 3rd grade. (4th grade and 5th grade in successive weeks)
April 26: End of Progress Report 


April 27: No School, Mother Son Hike @ 10 am 
May 7-11: Staff Appreciation Week, Day of the Teacher (May 8)
May 9: Bike to School Day, PTA meeting at 6:15
May 11: Progress Reports go home
May 18: Coyote Howl Hop
May 25, May 28: NO SCHOOL

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. The run  schedule is set with: TK-K @ 10:00 4-5 @ 11 1-3 @ 12:30 The run will take place on the Upper Field.  Funrun.com  is open and is accepting online pledges for support of STEAM funding at Cordelia Hills. Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
