Update for 11/7

Hello parents! Sorry this is coming on Monday but Friday was busy with training and report card questions, etc. This past week was a great week at CHE and we are looking forward to another terrific week here. A few important reminders, upcoming events, and other tidbits of information:

1. Traffic Alert--URGENT: This is a reminder that we are a school in a residential neighborhood. We have 630 plus students traversing to and from school everyday. Please remember to drive SAFELY at all times. While I know folks want to avoid being late, it is not worth the risk to our children or surrounding neighbors. Also, a VERY IMPORTANT message about the back gate. The back gate is really for students who live nearby and like to walk to school. Having the gate back cuts down on the walk for those students and families. The court and other streets nearest the gate are not for heavy traffic and we ask that you avoid using the back gate if you are driving to campus. This morning one of our parents recklessly drove thru the neighborhood to get to the campus. We don't exist in a bubble and we must work with and respect our neighbors.

2. Collection Drives: We have three collection drives going on right now:

    a. We are collecting non-perishable food items for Mission Solano. We have a can right inside the roll gate at the front entrance. We encourage families to donate to the cause. We have already filled up boxes and now would love to fill up the can! We are taking donations for the next couple of weeks.

    b. We are also collecting coins for Mission Solano. Send in your pennies (and other coins). Each class has small collection bins in the room. We will take coin donations thru November 16th and will present the donations live during the KUIC radio-thon on November 17th at noon! Go CHE!

    c. The Vintage Valley Blue Star Moms are collecting leftover Halloween Candy. This came to us this weekend and time is limited but if you have leftover Halloween Candy, drop it off in the main office and the VV Blue Star Moms will package it for our troops. Check out the flyer: Halloween Candy Collection and thanks again for your support!
