MAP Assessments Begin

This year, our school (and all schools) is taking a series of new "benchmark like" reading and math assessments. The assessments are online and are adaptive. They are meant to establish a baseline set of skills to start and grow from. Since the assessments are adaptive, it will allow the teacher/student to set goals that are at a particular students level (below, at, or above grade level).

We are starting the assessments this week and will continue working for the new few weeks to make sure every student takes both assessments. For more information on the new "MAP" assessments, please feel free to check out this link https://www.nwea.org/ or email/call me anytime.

Be an Internet Safety Champion Our students have a terrific amount of access to information and infinite methods for communication via the information. With that access comes a need for education and accountability. Many educators struggle to keep up with all that comes with greater access. We reach out to you to partner with us to held build strong internet capable students. Please monitor use by your student. We encourage regular conversations about internet safety. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card.
