Attendance Matters
Thank you for a great attendance week last week. We topped 97% two times and 98% one time over the five days last week.
Great job and let's keep it up as the year winds down!

Bike to School Day, 2 Volunteers Needed!

A reminder that Bike to School Day is this Wednesday, May 9th. We need two volunteers to hand out prizes at the bike rack to students coming in on bikes, scooters, or skateboards. Please encourage your students to bike if they can and remind them to wear a helmet!. If you are interested in volunteering, please email me as soon as possible. Thanks for your support!

Reminders:
5th Grade Slideshow: We are preparing a 5th grade slideshow for the end of the year farewell.  The slideshow will include photos of our fifth graders engaged in school activities or local community activities over the last 6 years at Cordelia Hills. We are looking photos that have two or more of our students in them. If you have photos to share, please email them to me with the subject heading of "Fifth Grade Slideshow Photos". 


Reminder, 1:1 Student Devices: CHE is preparing to be a 1:1 campus next school year. We now have enough devices for each student and plan on arranging for Chromebook devices to be available to go home for all students in grades 2-5 for the 2018-2019 school year. More details to come. 

CAASPP Testing continues this week and for the next two weeks. Third grade is basically wrapped up except for make-ups. Fifth grade begins testing this week. Thanks for your support and encouragement! We will have some final benchmark assessments for grades 1-5 after CAASPP wraps up. 

Coyote Howl is coming up on May 18th from 5-8 pm in the MPR. PTA needs your support. A message on baskets: 

"Planning is underway for the Coyote Howl auction baskets.  If you have any wicker baskets or plastic type baskets on the larger size that you would like to donate, we’d be happy to get them from you.

Welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills! We look forward to our final ramp up to Wednesday's Fun Run. Check out the blog below for information on the Fun Run, the week, and report card conferences.  Top Highlights •  Coyote Color Run takes place this Wednesday, November 8th. The run  schedule is set with: TK-K @ 10:00 4-5 @ 11 1-3 @ 12:30 The run will take place on the Upper Field.  Funrun.com  is open and is accepting online pledges for support of STEAM funding at Cordelia Hills. 5th Grade Farewell Information

Our 5th graders are preparing for the 5th Grade Farewell. The 2018 Farewell will take place on Friday, June 8th starting at 10:30 a.m. in the MPR. A few things to note: Timing : The event will start at 10:30 and will last approximately one hour (until 11:50). Students will be dismissed at the end of the event as the day is a minimum day.  Event:  The event will start in the MPR and will then transition to the quad. Parents are welcome to come into the MPR starting at 9:50. After the MPR portion of the event, guests will be asked to move to the quad stairs. Guests : We are asking the families limit guests to no more than 2 guests per student . With 120 seated students and limited space in the MPR, we simply won't have enough room for many more people. Please remember, this is a farewell celebration and it is not a promotion/graduation and students will not receive a certificate and names will not be called individually. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in making The Coyote Howl a success. Seeing smiling faces and kids enjoying the evening is always the best and your hard work, determination, time, and donations made it happen Friday night! Go Coyotes! Parent Requests Many of you have asked if you can request a teacher for your child. The short answer is no. We work hard as a staff to ensure our classes are balanced in academics, behaviors, gender, diversity and size. Thank you for trusting us with your child. MAP Testing District benchmark MAP testing has begun in grades 1-5. The end of year assessments take place in both ELA and math and will be reported on the end of year report card. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is at school everyday!
