CHE Update for the Week of 12/5
Good morning CHE! I hope all is well this wonderful Monday morning. A few updates as we near the winter break. School is in session thru Friday, 12/16. That day is a normal schedule day. We return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.
1. Attendance: Winter Attendance is so important. Please make sure your student is coming to school everyday. If they must miss, please communicate with the school about the reason for the absence. Our attendance rate is slightly down this year at just over 97.5%. Our goal is to reach 98%, making us one of the top attended schools in FSUSD. We can make it happen!
2. Winter Music Show: Select FSUSD Elementary schools will be holding a Winter Concert tomorrow, 12/6 at the Kroc Center starting at 5 p.m.. 3rd students are invited to attend to play in the song flute ensemble. Also, first grade students and choir students are invited also. The chorus students and 1st grade students involved need to be at the Kroc Center by 4:30 and the 3rd grade students need to be there by 4:45. The show begins at 5:00. We have sent a separate flyer for this but wanted to remind students if they want to participate!
3. Socks!: CHE is holding a sock drive! Please send in new packs of socks. Students can drop them off in the MPR in the blue bin. We are donating them to Mission Solano and hope to fill up 5 large bins. We only have a few pairs but I know we can meet our goal! We will be accepting socks thru 12/15!
4. Winter Festival: Thank you to the many volunteers who made the winter festival a great evening this year. We really appreciate all those that helped and for all of those that attended. If you are interested in joining and participating in the PTA, please know the PTA has extended the membership drive for a few more days. Stop by the main office to sign up or go to http://www.cordeliahillspta.org/ for more information. Those that sign up in the next few days will be entered into the CHE PTA drawing for a Chromebook or Apple Watch.
5. Penguin Patch Holiday Shop: The Penguin Patch Holiday Shop will be open in Room D-4 before and after school. Students have an opportunity to shop for small, inexpensive holiday gifts for family. Check it out!
6. Hour of Code: This week is the Hour of Code. The week serves as a spotlight on coding across the country and the world. Most of our classes are participating in special coding activities this week. Check out https://hourofcode.com/us for more information!
