CHE Update for 10/21
Another terrific week for CHE is wrapping up today. Without a doubt the highlight of my week is to see the many smiling faces and dancing students in the morning. They come to school with life and an excitement for life. As we make our way towards November, I know our staff is thankful for you sharing your terrific kids with us everyday. Thank you!
4. Halloween and Halloween Parade: CHE has a tradition of celebrating Halloween and this year we continue. We will host a parade on Monday, October 31st. The parade will start around 8:25 (after 5 minute PE). Classes will start on the blacktop and will parade (2x) thru the amphitheater/quad area. We ask that parents sit in the amphitheater seating. They can take video or photos from that area. Students are to wear school appropriate costumes (no masks, no blood, no weapons, and we ask that the avoid having clown costumes this year). Also, the library is open for students who do not celebrate Halloween or do not wish to participate in the event.
Upcoming Events/Dates:
Spirit Day: October 28th--Pirate Day! Box Tops for Education due to (please put class name on tops)
Halloween Parade: October 31st @ 8:25
NON Student Day: November 4th
No School--Veterans Day: November 11th
Conference Week (Min. Days): November 14th-18th (school releases at 11:40)
November 21-25: Thanksgiving Break--No School
Highlights for the week include seeing students learn about those serving our local community by making owl boxes for local ranches and open space areas. Students learned about why community service is valuable, about local owls, and about the purpose of the owl boxes. Also, Ms. Wilcox and her 5th grade students participated in a http://www.breakoutedu.com/ game yesterday. The game requires students to critically think, collaborate, be creative, and communicate in order to solve clues and to break thru several locks in 45 minutes or less. A great activity for our students!
Some important announcements and things to remember:
1. Trunk or Treat: Trunk or Treat is tonight starting at 6 p.m. and lasting no later than 7:30. Some students were confused about wearing costumes. Students are absolutely allowed and encouraged to wear costumes tonight. Our school chorus will be performing tonight and we look forward to seeing everyone!
2. Red Ribbon Week is coming up: We have several activities planned for students next week and are excited to celebrate positive, healthy choice making for our students. Each student will get a red wrist band and we are asking they sport the band all week!
